Me Geneviève Choquette
After studying law at University of Sherbrooke, Me Choquette began her practice in the
Montreal region. She also practised in the Eastern Township and in Outaouais, from 2013 to 2021, eventually returning to settle in Montreal and found the firm Choquette Villalta, llp.
A member of the Quebec Bar since 2009, Me Choquette practises exclusively in family law. During her career, Me Choquette wrote articles in Le Droit as well as made radio capsules in Outaouais.
Me Choquette is a frequent litigator before the Superior Court, both in French and English, in various judicial districts of the province.
Me Jessy Villalta
Me Jessy Villalta, is a 2018 graduate from the University of Ottawa, with a bachelor’s degree in Civil Law and has been a member of the Quebec Bar since 2020. Her experience stems from her previous title as a paralegal before the Superior Court between 2007-2020. Me Villalta is also involved in the “Comité sur la diversité ethnoculturelle” as a member since 2021 while also involving herself in the pro bono service “Parlons Droits.”
Her area of expertise revolves around family law and her former career title as a paralegal has allowed her to gain a vast amount of knowledge in the field of civil law, specifically pertaining to family law. Me Villalta prioritizes a meticulous approach towards her files thus being attentive and understanding of her clients, furthermore, focusing on her clients’ ultimate needs and goals. Moreover, Me Villalta is a professor teaching law at College CDI de Longueuil in the program Technique Juridiques.
Me Villalta can provide her legal services in French, English, and Spanish to adequately serve the hispanophone community. The foundation of the Choquette Villalta firm originate from a partnership between Me Jessy Villalta, her sister Me Shirley Villalta and longtime friend Me Genevieve Choquette.
Me Shirley Villalta
Me Shirley Villalta obtained her Bachelor’s in Civil Law from the University of Ottawa In 2018 and has been a member of the Quebec Bar since 2020. She has worked as a court clerk of the Quebec’ Superior Court at the courthouse of Montreal from 2012 to 2020 which has allowed her to assist Family and Civil matters. Also, it has enabled her to develop her legal thinking and reasoning.
Proud of her Hispanic heritage and being trilingual, Me Villalta is a member of the Ethnocultural Diversity Committee from the Bar of Montreal and is also a volunteer for the Let’s Talk Law public services offered by the Young Bar of Montreal. She also teaches at the CDI college in the paralegal program in the sole purpose to participate in the education of the future paralegals of Quebec.
Me Villalta practices Family and Civil Law. She is the co-founder of Choquette Villalta, s.e.n.c.r.l. along with her longtime friend Me Choquette and her sister Me Villalta.
